Aunties Dumpling

This cheap little eatery is in Carnegie on the busy Koornang road. A lot of shops on Sundays are not opened in here but this one was.

The restaurant has a homely- clean style setup which I liked. The walls were white with memorable pictures. For me this sort of setup is great.

The tables were a little bit sticky but that's to be expected. The waitress was friendly but did not smile. Maybe she had a bad day?
In terms of Asian drinks, there isn't much there, but there is free tea and the standards drinks in the fridge.

I have read many good things about it and many bad things about it but one thing worth noticing is the brown ugly ugg boots that one of the waitresses was wearing. It was meant to be for home and not work. The other guys were fine though. The others wore black pants, she wore trackpants. Again its meant to be for home. Her attire gave everyone the impression that the food was sloppy.

But in the end it was all fine and dandy and great. I had the fried rice cake- vegetarian of course. And of course I had my favourite nai wong bao which were great. The nai wong bao was not too sweet and was just great.

The rice cakes whilst cooked to perfection were a little bit bland. At least it is msg free.

Overall: 6/10. Some marks had to be taken off for the sloppy attire but other than that it was not bad and the pricing is great for the students at Monash and those that live in nearby Caulfield. The dumplings are good and you can buy some to take home.
