RMIT Greening's Community dinner and drinks at Shebeen

RNIS was invited to the community dinner and drinks by Realfoods
As part of RNIS's healthy living month
As part of Bupa's best blog competition for 2015

Last week RMIT Greening hosted a thank you dinner for all those that contributed to their garden. The dinner was curry and salad all made with the produce from their garden and RMIT Realfoods suppliers such as Organic Empire.

A lot of RMIT students and staff turned up for this wonderful event. Many of the present staff and students were thanked for their contribution and the casuals got a small gift.

The curry was lovely and I loved the dried fruit in the salad. It gave it that crunchiness. I didn't need rice after all to feel full.

The dessert which was raw vegan cake was scrumptious. It was a delight to eat.

Afterwards we all went to Shebeen which is a social enterprise cafe. Here I had heaps of fun watching the bartender do his thang making Aperol with champagne and spritzer. Sadly the bar only included soft drinks and tinnies which were $6 each. It didn't include food, but I was happy to pay for my Thai chilli and lime sorbet which was sublime.

Someone wanted juice but I'm told that they only do this during the daytime. That and the bhanh mi which I wanted

The bartender and his little lady was lovely to everyone and he helped two of the Asian girls make a decision on the drinks. One of them wanted tonic.

The inside was dark and dim.

Thank you RMIT Greening for having us and hope to see you next year
